Classes are open to all levels; and participants are given modifications or challenges as may be appropriate. Students are encouraged to practice with emphasis on continued breath awareness, alignment, and safety.
As we practice asana, pranayama, mantra, and meditation, each student is encouraged to honor both their gifts and their limitations. Props are used in every class so that students can experience a deeper opening on all levels. Classes usually are a blend of classical yoga poses, Iyengar-inspired usage of props, and inner work. In the hatha classes we will break down and modify as needed the traditional yoga poses so that everyone can get the physical, mental, emotional, and energetic benefits of this ancient healing art. We’ll explore the balance between effort and surrender; empowering everyone to find their own place of inner balance and joy.
This class consists of lying down and resting deeply, fully supported with props, and being guided into a state of very, very deep relaxation. When practiced regularly, Yoga Nidra (Yogic sleep) is very helpful in decreasng levels of stress, anxiety, depression, and tension.
This less active class combines gentle movement and stretching, guided meditation, quiet restorative poses, modified traditional yoga poses, progressive relaxation, and a variety of breathing techniques to give you a strong but elastic body, a feeling of general well-being, and a joyful, peaceful mind. We will focus on opening the body effortlessly, finding space and releasing compression and stiffness without struggle or strain - find your own suitable place to be in each pose and stay as long as appropriate or suggested.

Cancer Support Classes:
A gentler blend of active & restorative yoga that blends relaxation, breath awareness, strengthening and gentle stretches in a safe, comfortable envirionment. No experience necessary or expected; this is a fun, close group that is very welcoming and accepting.
